Ubuntu: How to Change the background of the login of LightDM

In this article we will see how to change the background of LightDM, The display manager of Ubuntu 11.10/11.04 which replaces the old GDM. To change the login background is easier to do than to say it just open the Terminal or from the Unity menu or the key combination Ctrl+Alt+T and type the following command:
gksu gedit /etc/lightdm/unity-greeter.conf
type the password when prompted and search the file you just opened the following line in the section [Greeter]
background=/usr/share/backgrounds/warty-final-ubuntu.png
and replace the path /usr/share/background/warty-final-ubuntu.png with the path of the new image that you like, reboot to see your new login screen!

more if you want also change the logo that appears at the bottom left, I mean the writing Ubuntu 11.10, try the following line:
Logo=/usr/share/unity-greeter/logo.png
and usually immediately after the line background=/usr/share/backgrounds/warty-final-ubuntu.png, And replace it with the path of the new logo, or move the image of the new logo in the folder /usr/share/unity-greeter/ and replaced only the name of the file logo.png with the filename of the new logo!
