Empathy with new support for Windows Live through XMPP on Ubuntu 11.10, here's how ...

In recent days Microsoft led services Windows Live accessible through XMPP thus providing more functionality especially for us Linux users. In this step came the imminent Support for Gnome Online Account which allows us to directly set the Empahty chat interacting with the new account manager, also are planned in the future greater integration of new applications.

We can already use this new feature or by installing the version in development of Ubuntu 12.04 Precise or on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric just Empahty upgrading to new version 3.3.3.

Updating the new Empathy we will also have the new support for Windows Live on Gnome Online Account ,Once we imported our credentials already Empahty access and have already imported to access MSN chat.

Install the new Empathy 3.3.3 on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric is very simple thanks to the dedicated PPAyou simply type in terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:telepathy/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install empathy
and confirm.
At the end we go on System Settings and choose Online Account and we will have the new service (in addition to Google) Called Windows Live.

We add our credentials and after a few seconds we will have a window that will show us to accept the integration of services across Google Online Account We accept.

At this point, just start Empathy already active for our account Windows Live.
