Ubuntu 11.10: how to enable Compiz cube

One of the most popular animations, and used by Ubuntu users is always on rotating cube ,Particularly nice to see but I personally do not use. In later versions, in particular from Natty, the cube appears to enable some ports entire environment problems, so here is that I started to experiment and test and found perhaps in virtual an ideal configuration for this to work.

The first thing to do is check if your system supports 3D cube. Open the terminal and type:
/usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p
And if you have a similar response with all "yes", then you are ready to continue with the article:
Not software rendered: yes
Not blacklisted: yes
GLX fbconfig: yes
GLX texture from pixmap: yes
GL npot or rect textures: yes
GL vertex program: yes
GL fragment program: yes
GL vertex buffer object: yes
GL framebuffer object: yes
GL version is 1.4+: yes
Unity 3D supported: yes
Install CCSM if you have not:
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
Now go and throw General Options -> Desktop Size and set "4" As the value of "Horizontal virtual size“:

Now enable the voices "Desktop cube" And "Rotate the cube“:

If there were more and Edge appear in the Desktop window, press CTRL+ALT+T to launch the terminal, type "ccsm" and try to set the correct items "Window Decoration“, “Move Window" And "Window Scale". If there are any problems even try typing in a terminal:
rm -rf .gconf/apps/compiz*
rm -rf .cache/compizconfig-1/
rm -rf .config/compiz-1/
rm -rf .compiz*
If even that there should reappear the system stable and accurate, then I suggest you give up the cube and restore Unity, the launcher and the settings of Compiz by following the instructions in this guide.
