The AppMenu for some users is very useful especially if you use a laptop or tablet or if you use applications where the menu is not required in the operations.
As we have seen in recent weeks we can turn this feature also Kubuntu.
Now we can use the 'AppMenu or Global Menu also on Xubuntu 11.10, With whom we have a new Widgets known precisely AppMenu Plugins which, once integrated into our panel will be added to the menu of applications launched.
Here's how to activate 'AppMenu or globalmenu on Xubuntu 11.10 Oneiric.
For activate or AppMenu globalmenu on Xubuntu 11.10 Oneiric simply launch the terminal and type:
Download the necessary dependencies:
sudo apt-get install indicator-appmenu appmenu-gtk appmenu-qt appmenu-gtk3
if we turn AppMenu on Firefox and Thunderbird we also install:
sudo apt-get install firefox-globalmenu thunderbird-globalmenuIf we Xubuntu 11.10 32bit
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/964512/misc/xfce4-appmenu-plugin_0.10-1_i386.debIf we Xubuntu 11.10 64bit
sudo dpkg -i xfce4-appmenu-plugin_0.10-1_i386.deb
sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/964512/misc/xfce4-appmenu-plugin_0.10-1_i386.deb
sudo dpkg -i --force-architecture xfce4-appmenu-plugin_0.10-1_i386.deb
