sudo apt-get unity-2d
Then choose to start Unity 2d session
Install Gnome 3
Gnome 3 is in my opinion much more beautiful and elegant in appearance. Although the level of development and correction of bugs still lacks a bit. But still is a valid alternative, is installed via PPA with these lines:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
Please note that after installing gnome 3 no longer able to use Unity.
