VirtualBox 4.0.6: up to 256 kernels, and improved support for Unity

Oracle has released VirtualBox 4.0.6 ,The latest version of its virtualization application available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux and is the third stable update VirtualBox 4.0.

According to the developers, this update integrates more than 50 changes and correctionsIncluding those affecting VirtualBox 4.04, which added support for guest machines with Ubuntu 11.04.

so far, VirtualBox does not support more than 64 kernels and threads on hyperthreading, but this latest version comes to support up to 256 kernels (Not the Windows version), as well as providing support for key combinations of the host machine and the ability to store snapshots in the same directory of the virtual machine.

There are also several fixes for Mac OS X hosts and X11, Support for X.Org Server 11.0 for Linux and several new features, including improved support for autorun and corrections to kernel 2.6.39-rc1.

Another important change is the version improved support for Unity, Which was glitches in the previous version but now seems solved if you activate the hardware acceleration in the virtual machine configuration with Ubuntu 11.04, and although some users seem to have problems by an odd mix of drivers (such user error), it seems that the current support is correct.

For those who older version of VirtualBox, as I do, if you Unity not working you will have to install the package virtualbox-ose-guest-x11.

You can check List of changes here ,And Download VirtualBox 4.0.6 in Official project page, Which as we mentioned offers versions for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris also.
