It's official: Unity is the default desktop environment in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal

Last week, talks between developers Canonical Featured put on the table a tricky question: Unity dispense as default environment in Ubuntu 11.04. But it will not be and the commitment of the British company will make its debut as planned.

In the conversations referred to, Canonical developers raise the possibility of holding the classic desktop of GNOME by default ,Emphasis on some of the weaknesses of Unity as far as stability and usability concerns, mainly.

The publication of these talks up a good dust of reviews of all types across the network, based, but as warned in most places (here too, although it seems that some people missed all of the bold article) was only a possibility just be resolved by Rick Spencer a statement on the mailing lists of Ubuntu.

In short, Ubuntu 11.04 comes with Unity yes or yes, Fixing bugs are being piece -for Beta 2 should have solved almost all reported, and there is still time to get things in place for the launch of Natty Narwhal on 29th April. Topic resolved.
