When you choose to start automatically without going through the GDM, or in other situations as well, a message appears asking you to unlock the keyring, preventing you can connect to your Wi-Fi network.
To unlock go to Network Connections icon located in the area of Service/Indicator Widget, right-click and select the Edit the connections.
Once there, select the Wi-Fi to which you connect, select Edit and select the options available for all users. As well:
