Ubuntu says goodbye to Rhythmbox. Welcome Banshee!

Banshee is the default player for the next version of Ubuntu, which will available from the first quarter of next year, Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal (Narval Elegant).

This decision was taken at the session meeting this week at the Ubuntu Developer Summit. This will result in some changes and the adoption of commitments for the support plug-ins that are included in Banshee by default.

support UPNP, easy codec installation, integration with the system sound and sync with the virtual store of Ubuntu (Ubuntu One Music Store) are some of the issues to be addressed. Specifically, we incorporate the Banshee menu (the icon with access and functionality to be defined) in the sound menu taskbar Gnome (or KDE is Kubuntu, share XFCE with Gnome a similar behavior).
