The new version of Linux Kernel, version 2.6.39

Today Linus Tovarld announced the release of the final version of the kernel, version 2.6.39, after 65 weeks of development and with a bit of doubt, and with some hesitation, since the same Torvalds said he would have preferred to launch an RC version of the Kernel

The main improvements are announced in this release are:

Some of its improvements since the 2.6.38 version:
  • The including the Nouveau drivers for Nvidia cards that promise to outperform the owner driver, As was the case Ati with the Kernel 2.6.38, although in the latter case slightly disappointing, given the expectations.
  • Improvements in the file system EXT4.
  • Support for the new graphics chips AMD or GMA500 chips and WLAN of Intel 2000 series.
  • Support  WiFi Realtek RTL8192CU and RTL8188CU.
  • Support  USB 3.0.
  • Controller WMI for new ASUS netbooks.
Interface Enhancements  SCSI, Among others.
