Gnash 0.8.8 has been included in Debian Squeeze

Gnash, the alternative within free software Adobe Flash player, reached version 0.8.8 on 23 August.

Towards a couple of weeks that Debian Squeeze, had entered freezing, but has applied derogation has been included to be in new version of Debian.

The new version of Gnash, which is already in 0.8.8-2, offers many good features.

  • It can be used as a standalone program or as an addition to main browsers: Chrome and Firefox.
  • You can switch between different rendering methods to maximize available hardware.
  • Ability accelerated video decoding hardware for Intel video cards, NVidia or ATI.
  • At level of programming can be much faster to compile have less external dependencies.
  • For the ActionScript language can use Javascript.
  • Many bugs fixed.
Great work and that decision to include it in Squeeze.
