Transmission Update 2.0 on Ubuntu 4.10

Transmission, the client for bittorrent network that is installed by default in Ubuntu has reached version 2.0 with many new features that you can read here we highlight the changes for all versions, remember that it is a multiplatform application.

  • Discovery local peers "to find peers on local network
  • Optimize download requests for available bandwidth
  • Intelligent heuristics to decide order of connection to peers
  • Faster verification of local data
  • More rapid onset
  • Support more file formats blocklist
  • The use of IEC standard units (KiB, MiB, GiB) instead of (KB, MB, GB)
  • Better handling of tracker 404 errors
If you want to update in Ubuntu 4.10 you can do this by adding a PPA repository
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/linuxfreedomlucid

and then upgrade 
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
